Has anyone got experience with this product put out by SVL that goes around the barrel and alleges to improve accuracy? I have a custom 284 Winchester that's a tack driver, but I'll take more accuracy if I can- all the other SVL (Limbsavers, bow stabilizer) stuff I have is very good. Just wondering- or is it a waste of $15? Thanks

I dont know but its like I say with all my SVL bow stuff..."the more it makes it quiet and the more it absorbs shock..the better".
What do ya got to lose by tryin it other than $15?

I called them to see what they had to say. The lady I talked to said they sell a lot to the mililtary and "tactical" police for their rifles. Most are reporting decrease in group sizes. The placement on the barrel is a trial and error process, but she told me most feedback has it placed about 3 inches in front of the forend, with individual variation until you find the sweet spot for your barrel. Makes sense since every barrel has slightly different harmonics.
I'm going to try one- if it's a waste it won't be the first time I blew 15 bucks. Will report back if it helps. The gun already shoots 1/2 MOA anyway.

You might want to try it on another gun, it can't help that one too much!

They might work and maybe it's just me, but I think those things are the ugliest thing I've ever seen attached to a rifle. The adjustment system seems bit hit and miss and would be easy to move. I'll find another way.

Plus I don't see how rubber on steel can't increase the "rust" factor over time. All it would take is a little moisture under the rubber and...

I put 1 on my Savage 300 WSM..Looks kinda dorky..BUT, it did tighten the group from 1" to less than 3/4"..I think if you shoot factory ammo like I do it can help.............

Guys have me questioning myself now-- with a gun that shoots as well as this one does, why bother?

Just be sure if you put one on and get it dialed in, that it doesn't move up or down the barrel. That will completely change harmonics (not unlike changing the pressure point in some factory stocks) and could affect accuracy and precision.
