hang a climber on the tree first. climb the tree with the climber to the desired height, and then hoist the lock-on up and hang it from the climber so you have a steady platform, and if you need to take a break you wont be up there hanging from your toe nails. i started doing this last year and it makes it a heck of alot easier

Why not just hunt out of the climber? Way more comfortable.

another problem folks run in to with hangons is they put the screw in steps to far apart. not vertically, but horizontally. i put the screws on so that i'm climbing 1/4 of the tree. makes it much more comfortable to climb

The first thing I do is put my step-rails on the tree. I climb up to the top of them and screw in a step right at the exact height that I want the seat to be. I then hang a rope over that step and get back down to the ground. I fold the lock-on to where it is flat on the platform and tie the rope to the top of the seat (that way it is already in the right position when you pull it up there). I put it up all the way to the step, tie the rope to a tree and climb up. The lock-on is already in position and I dont even have to touch it. Just climb up there hook the wratchet-strap up and tighten.

You must have at least about a 40 foot rope to tie to the stand, and to where it will hang over the step you screwed in at the top, and to come back down to where you can pull it up and tie it off.
Be nervous, but fear no one

Save yourself a lot of trouble and get the HS pulley system and a linemans belt. I've tried it all and this is by far the easiest.

For me, it always different based on the tree. Each tree requires a little engineering.
Thank god for kids.

Great suggestions guys, i will have to try that myself!!
The problem in America is not that ungodly people have said yes to ungodly things, but rather that Godly people have refused to say "no" to ungodly things.

DITO, I have used it since it came out and won't try to hang a stand without it , Safe and easy. The H.S. pully system that is.

God, Family and Friends, you cannot have to much of either.

Will you stand alone before those that oppose Christ? Yes, I will.
