got a deal on a 94AE 30-30. whats it worth? great condition. what ammo have you had the best luck with? what base you use?
i'm just gonna make a brush/throw behind the seat rifle out of it. probably just slap a 4X fixed on it.
what kinda groups should i expect? whats you 94 owners set up?
thanks

My Model 94 is my thick woods gun and doesn't wear a scope. I shoot the basic 150 Winchester.

My 94 is in 32 Win Special and also wears irons. Killed my first and biggest buck with it. Standard Win Power Points do well.

One of the draw backs of the 94's is the top ejection, there are not a lot of options for mounts.
I have a 30/30 Marlin, topped with a Bushnell 4x. It shots very well with the 170 gr bullets.
It was my first deer rifle, shot my first big buck with it. I have hung on to it for my son.
I have 94 in 38-55, it was built Aug 12, 1894. Had it traced through the William Cody Museum. Bought it from the son of the original owner, the guy was nearly 90 when he sold it to me.

Mine has a 1-4x scope and is in 356 Winchester. I was pleasantly surprized with it's accuracy. Better than I had hoped with groups one to one and a half inches. My only complaint is that the triggers leaves some to be desired.

i would like to find a 32 special with a 24 in barrel, do they make that leveroultion?ammo in 32. i took a nice 8 pt 210pds dressed out, when i was 16 in maine with my dads model 92 with half tube magizine and octagon barrel in .38-40. it was a good 50-75 yard brush gun at the most.he hardly ever used it and got it from my grandfather, so i put it to good use.

he said it was a 94AE...that is the later "angle eject" model and plenty of scope options exist for it. I have one with a 4x scope...weaver mounts.
