Anyone know how to disassemble a remington 7400. Not completely, just kind of field strip. I bought one for my wife and it is cruddy dirty. Although, the barrel was clean, the guy obviousely didnt know to take off the forend and clean the gas port and piston.

Pretty much the same as the 1100's drop the 2 pins and the trigger group comes out. I believe if you take the screw out that holds on the forearm,slide it off you can get to the gas port. I'll look in my book when I get to the house,been a long long time since I've done one.Doesn't Remington have schmatics on their web site ? Try Numricks they have some schmatics on their site.
