Call the Sheriff Dept. They usually have names and numbers of people wanting deer from road kills. That is your best bet.
That is a GREAT idea Worm.

we have a professional-grade 10' x 12' walk-in cooler. I really hate you.
For 2 years I watched walkin-coolers being sold on ebay until a great deal came up. I called the company selling the unit and it turned out they would make me one, custom designed, for the same price. So I ended up with this company from Florida building me one and including a more powerful compressor motor than most come with (1 HP 3-phase instead of the usual 1/2 HP single-phase) AND shipped to my door for $3,500. Roofs, walls and floor all professional grade, easy to assemble.

One thing I have done is build a list of people wanting deer meat. Once I have filled my freezer, I make a call and tell them the next one is their's and go directly to the processor. They go pickup the processed meat. From what I have found people are very happy to pay the processing fee to avoid having to deal with an entire animal.
If they don't want or can't eat an entire deer I partner them up. I have 3 families in my neighborhood that have 2 deer/yr made into summer and breakfast sausage that they split amongst themselves. I also know several people that give several deer to the Amish community, but I don't know any.

If I end up moving to Lawrence county in my new home , there is an Amish community down the road a few miles . I might see if they would like some venison . Looks like good hunting land too .

I missed the discussion last year ?? I know it is illegal to sell for a profitt. It has always been my understanding it was OK to let someone pay the processing and have the meat.

At the check-in station at Ft. Campbell they will take any donated deer (even one not killed on base) because they keep a list of soldiers who want the meat.

Do you guys ever struggle with taking enough does , because you just get tired of processing them ?
YES!!!!!
We pass up way too many does because we already have too many deer to process hanging in the cooler. I wish there was a place to donate whole deer that didn't cost anything.
Thats why God gave us Mexicans. My workers beg me to bring them a deer.
