shot 2 last year & no ducking by either but mine is rated at 345fps,i wonder if deer learn to duck by busting somebody trying to shoot them more than a jump from noise ?,had 1 duck & hit high in the shoulder 15 years ago @ big south fork in the rain, last time i bow hunted in the rain after losing that 1 deer, good luck & glad you got a great hunting partner,mike243

Don't worry about the sound, 98 percent of calm deer will be hit out to 30 yds. before they react. With a slower CB don't shoot with a deer looking at you as they can see the arrow launched and duck. The 2 percent that are alert will duck.

If you let it get close enough, 20-25 yards, they won't react quick enough to duck or jump.

not true.. they can duck it just like any other bow.. the crossbows arent flying much if any faster than a vertical bow..

Actually it is very plausible. At 305 feet per second, a 25 yard shot takes .214286 of a second to impact. The speed of sound is 1100 feet per second which crosses that same span in .068182 of a second. When the deer hears the sound, the bolt is already almost a 1/3 of the way to impact. This only leaves .1462666 of a second for the deers brain to react and send the order to duck or jump.

just shoot it and forget it. Keep all shots 30 yards and in and you won't have to worry.
