I have a new Horton Legacy175. I has been shot less than 30 times. I got it out of the case yesterday and it will not cock. I pulled it back all the way and there is nothing there to catch the string. If I put the safety forward, the string will push it back, but nothing to catch string. It's 7 days till opening day and I'm out of service. Has anyone had any problems like this, and if so, how long does it take to get it back from Horton if I send it back. Thanks!!

I have not encountered that problem before...but Horton is excellent to work with. If you bought it at a pro shop, Horton my exchange it out, if not, you'll have to ship it to them, and they most likely can repair in 1-2 days and return to you...opening weekend may not happen with it, but surely the following week. Hate to hear you're having trouble this close. Good Luck!

Call Horton tell them the problem, tell them the time constraint. The ask them what they are going to do. Just be nice about it. May be nothing more than a shot WD-40 and a sharp rap on the side.

I've got a horton with a similar problem. After shooting, sometimes my cocking mechanism will not grab the string on the next pull. I take my cocking aid and use the string to pull through the mechanism. I then take off the safety and pull the trigger, with no string or bolt in place. That usually resets the mechanism so that I can fire again. Not sure whats causing this issue and it doesn't happen every time, but is simply a minor inconvenience.

There is no mechanism to pull a string through. If I put the safety forward, the string pushes it back. Pulling the trigger does nothing.

better get these problems solved guys.. Its a problem and injury waiting to happen.. If there is any problem with the trigger on one of these things, you need to get it fixed ASAP.. Remember the bolt through the foot pics.

I am sorry to hear of the problem with the Horton. Invest in Excal CB. Your not buying a CB, your investing in quality CB company. The CB's they build are second to none! There are no serial #'s don't need them. Excals CB's if they need a part or repair is usually sent to owner in exchange. Doesn't matter if your the first owner or the 5th of the CB!
