I've read a lot about placing more importance on scrape lines than on a lone scrape. Today while still hunting, I found a trail with a line of over 10 scrapes. The land I hunt is in Normandy (near the Coffee County and Bedford County line). I've also heard that there's a time when the scrapes don't matter as much. The only camera I had was stolen or I'd put it up. What's y'all's advice on whether or not to hunt that scrape line?

No hunt is all skill. If not for a little luck, no one would hunt.

I probably wouldn't hunt it unless there is other sign around there. I look for does and food and that's where I find bucks this time of year.

A terrain funnel where it comes from or leads to is the spot to be IMO. Do not buy into the ignoring scrapes thing. The deer put them there for a reason. They may not hit them, but they use scrapes to communicate and that is why those scrape lines are often in areas that are already ideal for hunting--that is where the deer travel and they want others to see the scrape.

I can't decide if I'd call this trail a funnel or not. I've seen them travel parallel to it, but it's certainly easier to walk the trail.
