I'm going to Laurel Hill this weekend to hunt the quota on Saturday and Sunday. I'm covered up with my two-year-old and work. In fact, I can't really even leave the house until Friday afternoon because my wife is working two straight 14 hour shifts. I know this is a huge favor to ask of someone, but even if I had the time I don't have a place to do it. I need my muzzleloader sighted in. Zero at 100 yards should be good. I can meet you with everything you need, and I'll be glad to pay you for your time. I just don't have a place to go besides On Target, and their lanes are only 25 yards (not to mention the fact that I don't want to take my little girl in there just yet). I don't know enough about muzzleloaders to know what the trajectory would be if I'm zeroed at 25. Anyway, if you can help, I would really appreciate it. Thanks, y'all!

I use to only sight in at 50 yards. I'd place it around an inch high at 50 yards and out at a 100 yards in the field hunting I'd put the cross hairs on the money and it hit good. I always done this with rifle and muzzleloader and it never failed me. Even if it's slightly still high at 100 yards it's a small margin of error and still should be a kill shot. At 25 yards still an inch or maybe an 1 1/4 you should be ok. I believe I read somewhere most modern guns out to 100 yards you are at the peak of the rise of the bullet or at the start of the fall. Past 100 yards is really where you start seeing your drop. Like I seen where a 30-06 at a 100 yards was dead on, but by the time you reached 600 yards the bullet dropped 3 feet. Just some food for thought.

Oh I will add I did slightly test this theory. When I got my new muzzleloader I sighted it in at 100 yards. Right on the money. The following year I could only make sure it was still shooting right at 50 yards. And it was roughly shooting an inch high. And does every year I shoot a few through it. The best way to get started is if you can remove the striker and breech plug set it on a gun cleaning stand look through the barrel and put the inside of the barrel dead center of target. Without moving the gun look through the scope and adjust the scope so the cross hairs hit dead center. if ur scope says 1/4" MOA@100 yards then at 25 yards it will be 1/16" per click. So 16 clicks moves you 1".
