What company would be the best for a 243 youth model? I thought about H&R but they are still kinda heavy, so now I am looking at Ruger or savage. I want a good one that is light. Thanks

Check out the TC Venture also. Out of your 2 choices i would pick the savage if you have it narrowed down to them 2.

do they have any problem with the weight, I know it is a little over 6ibs but I worry about that and the recoil.

Are they a better round for youth guns other then 243. Right now he hunts with an SKS, heavy but no recoil.

Ten years ago you could not have gave me a .243 to deer hunt but since my kids have been using one I can assure you that little round will kill a deer as good as any I have ever used. And it is a pleasure to shoot. If you can afford and find a model 7 Remington that is what I would go with. You can also go to Wally world and get a youth model 700 ADL for around $400.

Bought my 8 yr old a Remington Model 7 in 7mm-08 last year for Christmas. He loves it. He is very small framed but has no issues at all. I did add a Sim ' s Limbs aver recoil pad and he shoots the 140 gr remington managed recoil cartridges. Sweet shooting little gun. I really like the 7mm-08
