Well, the tourney is Saturday, forecast calls for blue skies and light winds.
Is the lake drawn way down already?
Im thinking the top water thing will maybe work early, then what?
Any input will be appreciated, never been there, and my partner hasn't been in at least 10 years.

Yes its way down and dropping. I would suggest going way up the river if you had a jet boat? If not yeah topwater early (spook/buzzbait) you can also catch a bunch of fish cranking right now (big rock) but size hasn't been great (dt10)
Good luck

With the rains levels could rise greatly (10-15 feet). Upper end was muddy on Monday.

I haven't been lately... historically I would be switching to rattletrap and small crankbaits this time of year and running rock. The lake should be on the rise and muddy which i don't mind but with all the rain we had it may be rising too fast and muddy enough to walk on. The last trip I made 3 weeks ago I ran up and found bait everywhere but didn't get bit. I came down and caught a couple decent fish right on the bank.

My experience with Douglas and muddy rising water is get shallow and throw a moving rattle bait. Something in black and chartreuse or red craw pattern. The bait should be up and in the creeks with all the runoff so topwater may be a good option. I like a black buzzbait then.

Water is dingy at Swann's Bridge and still clear at Dandridge. Not sure how much water is on its way from NC.

LeConte got over 5 inches. I know that's south but it would seem like the rest of the run where Douglas is fed from would recieve +/- an inch of that. With as dry as it was prior to this rain I'd think the coves and creeks would be pretty stained.
