Hunted this stand twice now in the eve and both times deer was already here. Anyone ever have deer come back after bumping them? They are here because of 2 big oaks dropping like Crazy and a big crab apple that's dropping also.

If you're hunting the evening and you bump them, chances are they won't come back, but others might come. I guess it depends on how close to the end of the day you bump them. If it's happened twice at the same spot at the same time, try going earlier, if you can.

Do it too many times, and they'll probably change their route or food source.

I've been hunting this ladder stand for 3 years now and never had a issue bumping deer in the evenings. Things Change I guess. Pending what happens tonight this will be the last eve hunt for this spot for a while.

Might want to consider giving that one a rest. It doesn't take them too many times getting bumped before they abandon certain spots except under cover of darkness. As well, latent scent from coming, going, and sitting that spot can really wear a spot out.

I try to get in my stand for evening hunts by 2 or 3 early season.

But everyone has their own way... If you are bumping them at 5 try a couple hours earlier

Don't take this as me telling you what to do, but 5:00 pm seems awfully late to me. Your schedule may dictate that as the only time that makes sense, but if that's not the case, I'd be in place by 3:00 pm at the latest, if possible. That ought to give everything time to settle down by the time they come out. At 5:00, I'm already expecting to see some doe action.

I agree with jl Cec. I know your work schedule may not allow it, but 5 is just too late imo. And to add further to what he said, I'd prefer to be in at 2 or before myself. \:\)
