that does seem high. is it because of the "see under" (for lack of a better term) rings?

My scope sits lower than that but I don't have a picture handy. If you really want one, I'll get you a pic tomorrow.

I have one and the scope is mounted almost just like yours. Maybe just a little lower because I can see the top of the rear sight in my scope. They're great mzloaders.

No offense, boys, but how can you possibly shoot anything well when your cheek has to be completely off the stock in order to see thru your scope? Both my and my son's mounts are conventional(probably weaver bases)that I'm sure we bought at Walmart. With them, you can get your cheek down to where it ought to be to shoot properly, on the stock. At one point in time, I mounted see thru bases on a Marlin 336. After short order, I took them off and threw them away and mounted conventional bases. And they are great mzloaders.

I've got a Knight American with Burris mounts that will fit on Weaver-style bases. It's lower to the barrel and rock-solid.

Now thats what I am talking about...
What did you put in the screw holes from the rear sight? Just filler screws?

They were on the gun when I bought it from my neighbor, I don't know what kind of mounts they are. Yes there are filler screws in the sight holes.

The lower scope mount makes it a little harder to clean. Mine shoots great with the see thru mounts. Depends what you're used to.

I have two-piece Leupold bases and medium rings on my Wolverine. I don't remember the part number on the bases (they don't say they are for the Wolverine), but they fit perfectly and have worked great.

I have the stainless version with a older Weaver 2.5X mounted in Weaver rings. Took the front and rear sights off. Just use the sight screws to fill the holes.
