In my 30 years of hunting in TN and my 18 years of living in TN, I had never seen a scorpion anywhere in the state. In fact, I didn't think they were native to TN. But this last weekend, we found 2 scorpions in our hunting cabin and saw one crawling on the deck outside. What's up with that? Anyone have any advice for getting rid of scorpions, or why the sudden infestation?

Used to see them all the time when I was growing up. Haven't seen that many in a few years but do see a few from time to time. No idea how to get rid of them except hot water and watch them sting themselves to death.

When I was a kid we would flip rocks and find plenty of them. Haven't seen one in years but haven't looked either, don't have a clue as to how to get rid of them.

I was stung by one when I was very young to this day in my head I see a salamander since that was what I thought it was. We found salamanders all the time and I reached under a bush to get this one and it "bit" me. That was a trip to the Dr. Haven't seen one since and that was on Jones Ave in Nashville about 50 years ago.

They have been in East Tn for awhile. I didn't believe it at first but I have seen photos of them from friends.

Put out some glue boards in your cabin. That should catch them and what they are trying to eat. Harborage, water and food are why they are present. Take away one and they leave.

Only one I have ever seen in TN was in my friend Barry's garage. It crawled out of a piece of bamboo or cane that he brought back from Key West.

He crushed it with a cresent wrench.
