I've seen cows get like that with pink eye and it would sometimes heal and get back almost to normal but have a "cloudy" gray color. Some of the cows eyes would swell up in the center almost as if a 1st grader size pencil were growing out of their eye for about an inch. Truly painful to look at. They would be blind to the point that one ran into a fence while we were trying to catch it and broke that eye "stem" off.

I figured he injured it last yr in a fight... However, it could be an infection of some sort i suppose... I hope it's an old injury, that has just healed.. But yea if u put a mount like that over the mantle, you'd probably get some questions and some wierd looks from some folks as well...
