From what I have seen / heard the generation schedules that tva puts out on the places you call can be right on or nowhere close.

Just curious how accurate they are for the Caney?

Wading in the river out of earshot of the sirens makes me a little nervous. \:D

Personally I have only seen it wrong one time in 10 years.

Here it's right almost all the time. TVA doesn't get enough credit for the service they provide to get schedules even on Corp reservoirs.

From my experience they are usually correct. If I'm downstream far enough to not hear the siren than the water doesn't come up so fast as I can't get out. One word of wisdom, when the water first starts coming up, the trout usually start really biting. It's tough to stop fishing and start walking out.

I watch it daily and it's almost always correct.

For the Caney this weekend a safe bet will be a 2 hr pulse from 9-11am. You will not know for sure till the afternoon before the day you plan to go.

I've never seen them wrong on generation schedule. One tip I can offer is if you're too far downstream to hear the siren, pay close attention to the time. Set an alarm on your phone if you need to. Be sure to be on the same side of the river that you put in after generation starts. Depending on where you are it can take a few hours for the rising water to reach you but if you want to hang around and fish after it starts, which you should, you don't want to have to cross the river and chance not being able to make it.
