Well, my buddy and I got drawn again for Chuck Swan. I have not been for a couple of years. Regardless, the hunt is October 17-18. My problem is I just started back to school for an advanced degree and have a class meeting on the 18th! Missing class means loss of one letter grade. No big deal except the degree (which should be finished next July) means about a $6K raise. I can't win for losing. Didn't know the class schedule when we put in for the hunt. I guess I will hunt Friday and hopefully get lucky.

Good luck. There weren't many deer killed there last year and the deer numbers are way down. We hunted the first weekend in dec on the gun hunt and there were only 7 or 8 bucks killed the whole hunt.

Short term sacrifices for long term gains... Been there, done that, and for the same reasons (school for hunting). There will be other times to hunt, but taking care of your family is far more important than hunting.

Sorry for the bad luck

I don't know what happend to chuck swan the first time I hunted there probably 18 years ago I saw 27 deer on the muzzle loader hunt I was on " buck only " I thought I would see a good buck with the amount of activity in the area but never did see anything bigger than 2 small spike, now days it seem your lucky just to see a deer out there
