we gave our 5 fields a beer drinking drive by this evening, the fields were so heavy with doves that it looked like a bee hive that had been hit with a baseball bat

life is good, dove season is two weeks away

Had quite a few sitting on the power line over my field a couple of evenings ago. Can't wait.

Field looks good-----BUT not enough doves sighted yet. When they start shelling corn locally some more will be leaving I guess.

Flock shooting is a bad deal. Pick one, then pick another one. ;\)

I haven't been down to the farm(South Alabama) in a while but my Brother-N-Law says they are looking good. Not as many birds around the Argicenter this year...at least so far.

Sounds like the fields I hunt are covered up. One guy described it as a "beehive that got hit with a baseball bat"

I will make the 30 minute trek toward the end of the week to see if the Mennonites have started cutting their silage yet.

Last year was the first year in probably 25 that they weren't ready on opening day. Thankfully, there was another cut field not too far that had ample birds.
