I've been on a bread making kick the past few weeks and thought to post this for anyone who is tired of layin out 4 bucks for a loaf of crusty artisan bread. Flour, yeast, water & salt baked in a dutch oven. Doesn't get any easier. Simple to make and is by far the best I've come across. Takes 5 min to mix w/ a fork. No mixer, kneading or steam trays. Any number of combinations can be added to the first step of the recipe. One of our favs is cheese, rosemary and olives.

Nothing like the smell of fresh bread filling up the kitchen.

We've done that before, and it's delicious.

Looks great. Rosemary bread is fantastic with a stew.

I would suggest a fresh parmesean in favor of cheddar. I'm not sure this is the type of bread that would lend itself to oozing melted cheese.

Parm is good. About any of the harder cheeses aged a year or so. Add 1-2 cups of finely graded to the dough while mixing. Then sprinkle some on top during the last few minutes of baking without the lid.
