Dayum! Never caught a smallie that big on the fly! Awesome!

Funny, I know dudes who fish both styles - big rods, big flies, and small and small. Both styles seem to work for both dudes. Me, I end up with bluegill and small bass on the small flies and rods. Makes me giggle like an 8 year old.

When I use the bigger rods, I end up switching over and chasing carp, usually with no or very little success. Still somehow end up giggling like an 8-year old!

Flukes, either the Fluke Jr or the regular sized one. 1/0 Gammy EWG for the Jrs and 4/0 Gammy EWG for the bigger ones. I like Ark Shiner, baby bass, pearl, & watermelon for colors. I grew up fishing the Harpeth, and have fished it for almost 20 years, there are still fish to be caught in the river, just find the deep holes.

I fish the Stones river in the spring quite a bit.Flukes, floating artificial craws, grubs, wirlybees, and creek minnows have worked well for me.Caught several 2-3lb bronzebacks this spring on them. Also work good for redeye.Right around swift water is where I find them.Kinda hard to find any water lately.
