The added length will increase accuracy, but also add some addition weight. I have an Ithaca deerslayer w/22" barrel(smooth bore)it shoots wonderful groups out to @ 100 - 110 yds. I have two other slug guns with longer rifled barrels, they shot much tighter groups and much longer distances.
