I made my first wingbone call 2 days ago. I still need to wrap thread on the joints and seal it. It has a nice sound to it. I have enough bones for 3 calls. I plan on making 2 displays and the 3rd one I will use for hunting. If I get it down may try it out this fall.

The wingbone has become my second most used call. They're cool for a number of reasons but they also make a sound you can't get from anything but a suction call.

My wife is also not a fan. I use a dremmel to cut mine and the bone dust that results leaves a distinctly unpleasant smell in the garage.

I am looking forward to learning how to use it. I like the sound. I may borrow my dads dremel tool. I used a hack saw some times it would hang and I thought I would snap the bones.

fresh blade on a hacksaw works fine for me. But yes be careful not to break the bone. No bad smell from the saw

Looks good,Dremel does work best, but I use a coping saw on mine instead of a hacksaw and have never had any break.

I've made 3 so far. Two was from mature birds and one was from a jake. The jake sounds really good, and I used it a whole lot last season. I called 2 birds in with it.
