That's a nice redfish. Is it going in the frying pan?

UT - my family will be there tomorrow and I'll be down Monday night. We should get together one day and see what we can catch!

Nope...catch and release. Also there is a "slot" size limit in order to keep. Most reds from the surf are too big to keep.

Shrimp. We haven't caught any sand fleas yet.

That's a nice red!

Looking at the surf behind you, the sand fleas will be in a different area.

Congrats, looks like fun. What kind of rod and reel is that? I need to buy a new one for our beach trip.

Great fish... I am in New Jersey and I fished the harbor yesterday and caught a small croaker and have yet to cast in the surf. But I will be surf fishing today for sure.

Go down below the bridge going over the bay and use fresh shrimp on a Carolina rig. Wade out and cast to the bridge piers and have fun. Do this with a smaller rod and you will catch all kinds of fish. Caught a ton of legal mangrove snapper last year at this time there.
