Why do you own one? After shooting my brothers I want one but not sure how much i would shoot it? Do you guys just have it for when chit hits the fan? Or do you have more practical use for them? I looked at the s&w, bushmaster and the dpms which of the three should i look harder at and which should i set aside? Any recommendations?

Sounds like you are where I was. Had no real reason to own one but told my wife if obummer was elected I was buying one. Well I never did and haven't regretted it yet. Probably will one day but I can spend $1000 on something else I'll actually use.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

About like buying a Mazda Miata. Fun to shoot, you spend more money on one than you really ought to, and there's no "need" to have one. It really doesn't do anything more than a Ford Taurus would do…you just look cooler driving it \:D

This is about right. I love mine and its a blast to
shoot. I have killed several yotes and armadillos with it. But I haven't shot it in over a year.

Never wanted one but a good friend and ATF agent talked me into checking thwm out. Well I bought a lower from a tndeer member and did a complete custom build myself. At 100 yds I have a 3" group free hand.

If you need any help, just PM me

Dependable guns....... I own a 16" colt that I purchased just to have one. I have a 10" sig that I purchased because I wanted a 10" rifle and I have a CMMG in 300 blk that I purchased as another deer hunting rifle, also as a 30 cal gun to put a suppresser on and be able to shoot sub sonic rounds through. Hmmmmm now that you ask I don't "NEED" any of them. I will say this knowing what I know now If I wanted to purchase an AR 15 platform rifle it would instead be an AR10.

Because when I go to check out/work on my property, I want more firepower than the trespassers, thieves, and methheads...simple as that. ;\) Our co investigator, concerned for my safety, once told me this: "There's only two things these folks will do when you eventually run upon them on your property...they'll either run, or they won't. Are you prepared for the latter?"
