....Hari claims some beers contain additives like high-fructose corn syrup, stabilizers and artificial flavoring, which have been linked to obesity, allergies, hyperactivity and gastrointestinal problems. She also alleges that big brewers use unappetizing things like propylene glycol a foaming ingredient found in airplane deicing liquid and even use fish swim bladders during brewing for clarity....

I have no idea what's in my beer, but since I no longer drink anything made by the big breweries...

I ONLY drink craft beer (and a lot of it!).

I'm in it now as well and REALLY liking the dark bourbon barrel aged type stuff - typically mostly dark beer vs the "hoppy stuff". I've tried several Lagunita's that are hop heavy like Hop Stoopid for instance \:D

Matter o fact - after the gym this evening I believe I'll hit the store and rifle through the dark stuff

The "dark stuff" is all I drink. I don't like hops. Give me malts, malts, and more malts (especially roasted English malts). I've found few Pale Ales that I can stomach (Blackstone's Maris Otter and Black Abbey's Crossroads being two exceptions).

I'm too impatient to make my own. I only want to wait for my beer as long as it takes me to drive to the growler filling station! ;\)

So far, I haven't run out of choices for new craft beers to try, but perhaps someday I will feel the need to make my own.

The "article" is crap because all it says is GMO GMO GMO.

However, I find it difficult to justify spending $10/6-pack on a beer that uses caramel coloring to achieve the brown in their "brown ale".

Corn syrup in beer should also be a no-no.

I am NOT a Newcastle fan. I hardly consider them a true "craft" beer. But then, I don't think you can call Sam Adams a true craft beer anymore either.

If it's not made in small batches, it's not a craft beer. Just my opinion...

I hope that article is false. Newcastle and Guinness are two beers I drink when I go out.

Actually, I'm a bit disappointed with their beer menu. It's great if you're a hops fan, but not so good for those with English-style ale tastes.
