What varieties of trees, soft or hard mast, will drop food during the rut? November they January. Anything out there like that?

Also, does anyone have a good line on Chinese chustnuts, dunstans, or dwarf chickapin oaks? I'd like to get them locally but I'm willing to order them if need be.

How fast do Chinese chestnuts produce? What advantages do the dunstans have over the Chinese?

Anyone have any experience with the hybrid chestnut the tn forrestry department sells? How do they compare to the varieties mentioned above?

The native Persimmons on my Humphreys County farm have fruit that hangs on and drops over time, into the rut. There was a thread here last fall that said the Forestry Dept. hybrid chestnut is part Dunstan. I planted 10 Chinese Chestnut bare root seedlings 3 years ago and most are growing very well and I think they produce in about 3 years.
