The tikka will easily shoot under 1" at 100 yards

I think you may have this backwards.
My Weatherbys all have a 54 degree bolt lift.
My understanding is Weatherby invented & patented this, and many years later the Browning A-bolt also started doing it, as may have some others. By contrast, the Remington 700 has a 90 degree bolt lift (as do most bolt action rifles).

the MarkV may have the 54degree bolt but Im 99% sure the Vanguard S2 does not, it has a full bolt cycle (which is the one the OP is looking at). I may be very much wrong on the tikka as its been a while since i have operated one though.

I am only intimately familiar with the Mark V, and have never owned a Vanguard. Had thought all Weatherbys had this 54 degree bolt, but that may not be the case. It is the case with the Mark V.

I cannot say a single bad thing about any of the Tikka's I have owned. All are shooters and I wish I would have kept a couple of them now that after market stocks are made for them.

I also had a Weatherby Vanguard S2 in .257 WBY Mag. It was a great shooter and my only issue with it was that the bolt seem to have a loose fit when it was in the fully open position. It just had too much play for my liking.
