I'm in the market for a new bow this summer! My question is I have 26 inch draw. What bow or what characteristics do I need to be looking for to get the most speed I can.

^^^ hello fellow short armed archer . I have a 26" draw also . I have given up on the speed deal because we don't stand a chance shooting really fast speeds . What we can do is shoot an efficient set up that was blistering fast 5-10 years ago . I would recommend shooting a bunch of different bows and finding one that feels and holds the best for you . Although you can use speed as a deciding factor I would not . After all the only thing speed will do is help you miss faster if you aren't comfortable with the bow .

With that said what kind of brands are you looking at ? PSE has a good short draw line available with impressive speeds . Hoyt's are good feeling and shooting bows for us short armed fellers . Just depends on what you are looking for .

Right now I'm shooting a bear truth 2. I'm shooting somewhere around 270fps but am using real light arrows. To get that. I am open to any brands just want a bow that is comfortable and is quicker than what I have now.

Dude 270 is moving pretty good for a 26" draw . How light of an arrow are you shooting ?

Well let me clarify my self. What I am looking for is to be able to shoot flatter. From my thinking getting a faster bow would do this or is there anything else I can do to shorten the distance between pins?

270fps is smoking for that DL....don't know how much more you're going to get out of it. Problem is the bows nowadays are close to maxed out with speed, unless they make major changes to BH and cam design that makes the bow a handful to draw and shoot. You might change bows and pick up a little speed and a very slight difference in trajectory, but very little.

you will never have the same pin gaps as the longer draw length guys . I have the same problem . You can shoot the exact same speed as a longer draw archer but your peep to pin and how you see your sight will make your pin gaps larger . All I know is it has something to do with the peep to pin , peep to arrow height , and how your eye perceives the sight .

Also I was wondering what total weight your arrows were ? What is the length of the arrow . If you can figure that out let me know and me or tndeerguy can plug in your numbers and see what weight arrow will get you to flattest trajectory . Sometimes you can shoot too light of an arrow and it doesn't carry it's momentum as well .

My hunting bow last year was shooting in the 250's .
