I like the bright orange flesh type, seem to be very sweet. Don't know what type they are? You got any idea and what do you all plant?

I'd say beauregard (sp) is what your wanting. That's what I've always planted. Bright orange flesh, fairly good sized, not long and slender like some sweet 'taters.

Yep, Beauregards in the ground now. Doing pretty good so far. I guess we got about 45 slips hanging around and doing good. I love them.

I don't plant them, but I got this in an email from my local nursery.
Sweet Potato Slips

We have another shipment of sweet potatoes in stock.

$18.75 / bundle (25 slips to a bundle)

Beauregard

Outstanding release that has been accepted by farmers everywhere. Chances are this is the

variety that is available in your local market. Quick maturing with good shape. Red-orange

skin and orange flesh. Matures in 90 – 100 days.

Georgia Jets

A spectacular variety with extremely fast growth (#1 size potatoes in only 90 days) and extra

high yields. Georgia Jets have moist flesh with marvelous taste. Dark red (almost purple) skin

and orange flesh. Matures in 90 days.

Porto Rico

Also called “Bush” and “Vineless.” The favorite of gardeners with limited space. Delicious old

Fashioned flavor. An excellent baking potato. Baby Bakers in 100 days. The old red yam!

Copper skin and light red flesh. Matures in 110 days.
