My buddy had a group coming up between 4:30-5:30 every day. We shot two last night between 5:54-6:00 last night. Still had more than enough light to clean them and jaw a bit.

I was talking more along the lines of breeding rituals.. And responsiveness to calls....

You've got time. Believe it or not, some will still be in the mood well into June.

This morning I took my nephew, and from first light to official sunrise we had birds gobbling on the limb. they hit the ground and gobbled, but not as much. I called and one gobbled back. I went silent and we didn't know how many were out there. They were on the the neighbors place but usually come to my brothers. I finally found them at about 200 yds. 5 strutters. Well they skirted us and sometimes they come on to his land behind where we were sitting. I moved and set up on the fence line (all we had) and I can see them about 100 yds way now, but they aren't coming our way, because right in front of them... 3 hens.

I called lightly and the dominant Tom would go into strut, but none would gobble. when I didn't call he'd be eating, when i did, full strut.

I've seen birds in full strut with hens early in the morning in mid June.

Got in the woods at noon today and had one gobbling about 12:30. Came within 45 yards which was close enough for my gun but not my son's. Needed him to get within 30 but it didn't happen so he ended up walking off but not until we got to see him out on a show.
