They are here in Ky and I been trying a experiment with one. Every few days I pour a 20 oz bottle of cheap strawberry soda over it. Of all that we have out this one seems to be getting hit the most. Have another same brand not 40 yards away that don't show near the sign. They got a 4 inch deep hole dug all the way around it so far.

yes they are legal but a sugar block isn't lol.cant have any grain or food in it & has to be a high % of salt,its in the book some where

All minerals and even baits are legal in TN. However, you can't hunt over bait. Mineral sites are legal to hubt, but putting the soda on it would most likely make it illegal to hunt over. If you remove it before season, it is okay though.

Tried some Molasses on another block a couple hundred yards away yesterday. Have not gone back to check but thinking about hanging a camera or two watching over them for a while. Just playing with the park deer while season is out.

our lick is in a high traffic area and would probably be good without the salt. it is just there mainly to get pics.

And in my opinion, that's the best use of salt licks--for placing cameras over. For that purpose, they can be very useful.
