I'm gonna get me a good one after this season, I've used a primos power crystal for the last couple but it is not holding a sound anymore, any suggestions?

I've been using a Woodhaven Cherry Classic Crystal for several years, and it's a great sounding call but seriously overpriced. I looked a lot of them at the NWTF convention and without a doubt, the next one I get will be a Lonzo.

Go to mackspw.com and look at Lonzo Trice's pots. Both his slate and glass calls are marked down right now. His bird's eye maple slate is 100% turkey and is marked down to $37. At that price I had to order me a spare.

Another great pot at a phenomenal price.

I agree, although I've had issues finding a striker that I really like on the slate. Any suggestions?

One thing that needs to be said. Be careful dropping a bunch of money on a so called "custom" call. A ton of call makers are buying the pot, sounding board, and surface pre cut. All they do is glue it together. These are not custom calls and generally don't carry the same sound quality of a true custom call.

A truly custom call is one that the call maker turns the pot and sounding board themselves, not a pre fab garbage pot from a supplier. They tweak each one to sound up to there standards and usually every call from a good call maker sounds identical.

Woodhaven are most certainly not custom anymore, they've converted to mass production and the quality shows in their newer calls

We started carrying Down and Dirty this spring and am seriously impressed by their friction calls. The slate and glass are very good and at a decent price @ $49.99, They offer nicer strikers too in a flare or straight tip.
