We recently saw an uptick in the violent crime happening in Chicago. Democratic leaders are again pushing for more gun control laws.

But a "fresh look" at the worst places for violent crime is showing it's most related to recreational drugs (whether legal or illegal) and gangs that peddle it. Not to mention, those areas with the worst ongoing crime rates already have the strictest gun laws, while areas with lax gun laws seem to generally have relatively little violent crime.

Below are two different short news clips, together complimenting each other in making a strong case for much of the "cause & effect", and why Obama/Holder's latest edicts may "sound good" but end up taking things from bad to worse.

Will this move bring more Chicago-style crime across America?

Personally, I actually thought it might be a good idea to early-release many of the non-violent felons from prison who are incarcerated only for non-violent drug use. The rationale is that had these people committed their same drug crimes today, their sentences would be shorter than their already time served. Not so sure now, especially since so many of the Obama edicts have already been tried and disproven in his hometown of Chicago.

There has to be some sort of statistical analysis to compare factors such as gang activity, drugs, and gun laws to prove that places with strict gun laws have more crime than places with lax gun laws. If common sense does not work for the left, then maybe mathematical certainties will convince them.
