Roost,
Yes they are, as imperative IMO as any gear you may carry, have been using them for 7 years now. Think about how many times you knell when you’re out hunting/stalking etc. Learned a long time ago that stones, sticks, briers and mud etc, needless to say a “pain” . Well the mud/dirt aren’t but you get the idea (no wet knees). Say you headed to the stand/setup/blind and “I forgot” my cushion #$#&, I just remove them set them up and voila, a perfect bra for your buns \:D . Many times I have knelt on the foot rest area of a stand and used the seat as my steady rest. Saves ware and tare on the knees, the expanded metal “hurts”. Super insulation value as well on those cold days. You can pick up a good pair at Lowe’s, not expensive; they even have them in camo. Of course that’s more $$$$, get the black pair and knell in the dirt, instant camo. Another item I carry is a “cough” towel. Basically a heavy facecloth, fold it 3 times and use it to silence a sneeze, cough etc. It does work well, I have experimented with deer, and yesterday a hen turkey…….. Didn’t bother her a bit, never once looked around. Just a few things are very little in cost but help immensely.

Great when your praying to the turkey gods. Hours of that take a toll on the knees

After taking a lifelong buddy on his first turkey hunt and him botching a potential double sunday morning....i went back in with an educated guess on where the birds might be....as i got closer to the area i wanted to be sure nuff he was where id guessed he be....roosted over the sloughs....i set up between his roost and the field we first seen him and his buddy in...wasnt long i was frozen with two dozen hens around me with nothing but a cypress to my back...the toms took there time and at 8 i had to vreate an opening and dropped this biggun...he scored a hair over 70...22 lbs 11" beard public bird

Today my 3rd public land bird fell....after somewhat patterning these turkeys I was able to get to a spot ive witness the birds landed off the roost over the past 2 months this group has eluded me....at 5:55am birds began landing in front of me then i see a white head land and immediately began syrutting then another strutter was following that i didnt see fly in....the dominant bird i seen fly off out of sight but a few hens come down and began walking to my right with the two toms and a jake following i had to wait for the hens to pass and i picked my opening and waited for one of the birds to enyer in....once the birds got behind the tree i lifted my gun up to position....once i seen the first head I let the Longbeard pardner pump combo bark
