I have a 55 inch Vizio and a 47 inch Vizio.....had a Samsung but it went out. We got it fixed, but when the lightning hit, we replaced it with another Vizio...

We have a canon printer equipped with wifi....

Always go with 1080.....imo.

A relative went with the cheaper 760, I think, and marvels at the clarity we have with the 1080.

I would be safe to say most brands of TV are made by the same company just different warranties . My LG big screen crapped out and most of the others in the bedrooms are Visuo so I believe I would just compare prices . Printers same compare prices , cheaters better

Tv choice depends entirely on $$ as do printers.

Do you have price points?

Yes on the price points.

Printer = $100 or less. I seldom use them but here lately I've been printing out a bunch of sight marks for my bow sight. The only requirement I have for one is that it has to print on those Avery label sheets, which most do.

TV = Probably about $700 or less. The Philips I have now, I paid over $1,000 for it new when it was all said and done and like I say, it only lasted about 3 yrs.

I have a Samsung 42" lcd in one room that is 4 years old this fall. I have a Vizio 60" lcd smart tv that is 2 years old this fall. The Samsung has the best pic of the two.
On printers I use a HP laser jet printer.

I have a 42" Vizio That looks the same way it did when I brought it home 4 years ago.

My 60" Samsung plasma. Well. Hmm. Glad I bought the 4 year service plan. Stay away from plasma in general.

Don't pay for wireless unless you want to hide your printer or you don't have cable-length away desktop room for it.

Please remember Kodak is out of the printer business.

Before you buy any printer, go to the web and price out replacement print cartridges. I use "LD" for my Epson and I only use Reconditioned cartridges.

I buy

^^ This

go to a site like or something and price out the ink for your printer. order the multi-pack and only buy a printer that has a generic ink replacement. I wouldn't buy anything that had a single generic ink cartridge cost of more than ~8 bucks. Don't buy ink from a big-box retail store, it's too confusing and the prices are not usually competitive.

I typically use for price comparisons and user reviews. Sometimes they offer "lightning deals" on a particular printer. I bought mine for ~ 50% off last year.

Quick rule of thumb is that you shouldn't pay more than about $120 for an inkjet, and many times you can get them for less than $80 or so.

If you have a smartphone and have wireless internet hooked up at your house, then it's probably worth the extra 10-20 bucks to get a wireless-compatible printer, because it's handy to print from your phone sometimes. If that doesn't apply to you, don't waste your money.
