That is shooting sabotless. I can't say about a CVA but the basics are you need a near perfect fit. You want a it snug but not so much that it gets stuck going down. If it is somewhat loose you can tighten it up a bit by knurling the bullet with a bastard file. Maybe someone with a CVA can help you more. In the mean time jump over to the smokeless board there is a few guys shooting sabotless but they are shooting custom guns with smokeless powder. Good luck
I have been useing the hornady 250 sst in 50 cal and all 3 of my sons do still just didnt want to have different bullets laying around for them to make a mistake so i guess ill just switch to barnes blue tip everyone else in the house uses red tip so that will help with confusion
