But a reality show on my job would put everyone to sleep!

Ahhhh I interpreted PD as Police Department.

Yeah guys, I was the administrator - programmer - systems analyst - database administrator for the main computer IBM i5 at the police department and a backup system across town, which controlled dispatch for police, fire, & EMS, and records management for police. I also was the backup guy for the mobile data system, and the portable radio programmer.

My job was day to day trouble shooting, creating crime statistical reports for the admin folks and public requests. ALso did some officer performance reports and crime analysis stuff for the admin folks. I kept fairly busy - it was a job that was like a cops job - hours of boredom interrupted by moments of adrenalin. Course when I had a project it was days or weeks of nose to the grindstone.

I'm a civilian and worked there for 21 years. I still have access to the system just in case they need me for something - so I may get some consulting work.

Been a good run - got a commendation from the Mayor and Chief of police so I'll have some wall paper for my ham radio room in the new house.
