Big lots as them 6ft for $15. I know they aren't the best to plant but wanted opinions on whether they would be worth it or not

For that price I would get something better... jmo.... if you are going to stay local (not mail order) i would look for stayman winesap and some arkansas black... again just my opinion.

thanks for the reply all opinions matter to me I haven't been able to find any Arkansas blacks that's why I was looking at these

Why would you say Gala and Red Delicious aren't good? Do deer not eat them? I bought a fruit tree package from The Wildlife Group a few yeaars ago and there was a Gala as well as Arkansas Black in the bunch.

They are not bad, just susceptible to disease. There are better apples out there. I planted a gala as well. not a bad apple.

OK, I thought you meant they weren't real attractive to deer. In any case, my wife loves them (and so do I) so hopefully I'll have good luck with the ones I planted closer to the house for our own eating.
