http://www.infowars.com/surrender-your-firearms-connecticut-tells-unregistered-gun-owners/

I had mentioned this would happen because long guns bought from stores have been registered in CT for years as have handguns - they have the database.... but according to CSP they haven't decided how to enforce this yet.

Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security"

So just who is going to lead this revolution that's going to pop up just any second now?

So are you saying, sarcastically of course, that under the current circumstances of our govt, that there is no need for a major change...that these "minor" abuses of governmental overreach are just to be tolerated? Interesting you take a position such as this when this issue shows a blatant attack on another constitutional right of the people.

I will say this, a leader is desperately needed at this time.

UPDATE:

Even though this made InfoWars - I just found out the validity of this letter is undetermined. CCDL (CT Citizens Defense League) which is the main gun owners organization now in CT has stated they know of no one who has gotten these letters and CSP denies sending them out.

However CCDL is in possession of a letter from the Commissioner of CSP which states that a letter will be going out to gun owners who they know have these weapons and magazines and will instruct them to do the same thing that is on the letter in question. Probably in November after they have gotten their data entry done on the registration forms and can compare that data to long gun/handgun purchases in the current database.

I am a DP professional by trade in (LE) and this is not hard to do.
