does any one have any idea who would buy them in middle tn area

Any tie mill will buy them. I don't know about your area but there is a bunch of them in Grundy county.

It a saw mill where they buy logs and they cut railroad ties out of them. I tried a search for Kingston springs and here is what I found. I don't know how far Fairview is from you but they might know someone local you can sell to.

Oh yeah, don't accept anything under 35 cents a foot for a red oak tie. They might give you a good lumber log price for the very first log that comes off the tree. I cant really tell by the pictures, But that could be anywhere from 40 cents- 90 cents a board foot for the grade log. Hopefully you have 1 grade log and 2 tie logs.
