Question, I have a duck blind, that is a private lease. Have 3 acres of flooded corn that is round-up ready corn. Not a bit of it has been eaten at all. Ducks by the hundreds will come in about 10 minutes after shooting time has ended, and be gone before shooting time the next morning, anyone else had this issue?

Are you trying to figure why they come in late or why the corn hasnt been eaten?

No, changed them around, pulled up for a bit, let it rest for days, never left the same for more than a week. Yes to both

One of our farms used to be like that, where we could only hunt about once every two weeks. They'd eventually build up on it and you could have a good hunt, but after that, you had to leave it alone again. That one day would be fun, but it was more like a dove shoot, than duck hunting. No decoys, no calling...just shoot em when they come in.

I have heard of several people planting corn this year and nothing is eating it because its GMO and nothing will eat it

3 blinds just south of me totaled out this past season with about 2400 ducks total, all duck holes had Roundup Ready Bt corn planted around the blinds

the ducks love it

Is that the same as the GMO? I hadn't heard of GMO until this year. Sounds like its genetically modified.

All corn is genetically modified to some extent. GMO has nothing to do with the ducks not eating it. That's just simply not true, but I guess it would make good fodder for a liberal based argument for the non GMO movement that is based on "theories" developed by individuals who wouldn't no the difference between a combine and a Prius.
Duck river, that's not directed at you at all, this anti-GMO movement is a soapbox of mine and I hate it when it's brought up.

what's good about GMO corn is that most federal refuges are not allowed to plant this type seed, at least this is what is happening on the Hatchie National Wildlife Refuge in Haywood county, the hunters in this area love this ruling

it means that the corn field are not as clean and therefore do not produce as much food and the refuge field will be picked clean quicker, then the birds do a better job of feeding outside the refuge on the GMO corn fields
