This crazy thread really got me thinking about what I would do if I was hunting and saw one, for real.

What would you do?

Are there any state laws saying you could shoot it?

No, unless I see myself, or others in danger. Taught a long time ago that I don't kill unless I am going to eat it.

I probably would just so people would believe me. I've been on the opposite side of that debate for a while now, and if I came back claiming to have seen one without any proof, after all the stuff I've said about them not being here...well I better have proof of some kind or people would throw me on the chopping block and have a time. \:\)

I don't buy the whole "don't kill it unless you eat it" thing. I've killed a bunch of mice over the yrs in traps I've set in the house but I'll be doggone if I'm going to eat one of those things and I bet nobody here would eat one either. I ain't planning on living with 'em and I sure ain't eating one after I kill it. Same goes for skunks, possums, cats that get in my garbage or on my truck, etc.

I remember reading a newspaper article a year or so ago about a guy (I believe in Virginia) who saw an African Lion while deer hunting. The authorities believed him and said it must have escaped from some menagerie.
