Not a big fan of Remington, but I ran into a deal...brand new .243 700 synthetic for 350.00. I have wanted a .243 so I got this one. Don't think I could have beaten this price.

First deer rifle I "bought" all by myself in 1989. It is a wood stock ADL that I still have. Congrats.

Tnyote, I have the same ADL setup (maybe a year earlier) as you except in .30-06. It's a fine setup that feeds and functions 100% of the time. Wish I could say that about some of my newer rigs.

RUBLINE, I have a Rem. 700BDL .243 that i have owned and used since 1981 and never had a minutes trouble. Never had to touch the zero of the scope since it was mounted/boresighted. A very accurate gun!!! Try not to take it out if it is threatening rain though so I don't mess up the finish. Like it so much, I bought another 700 in .270 three years ago.

Congratulations .Great choice! I have several .243 rifles that I have owned and used since 1971 and never had a minutes trouble. The .243 is a good varmint rifle also and can reach out there and get a groundhog.
