Cool. You don't need fancy - just function.Here is mine... I use a 3/8" braided rope and pullies. I have to tie my rope off though. I can see the wratchet lock would be nice.

impressive pics assasin,but us po folks cant afford to spend money on things like that mine was under $25, a lil time and effort/rldel cool video nice setup,just dont have space for a setup like that,didnt really think it was that fancy but thanks

First thing I do before hoisting, is skin out past the knees and cut those dam legs off

With much respect to the original poster to whom I will apologise if I'm hijacking his thread - I don't mean to.

I thought about doing a video clip but if we can see it so could others and I don't like giving ammunition to those who may not like us huntin' types but I could draw up a Figure that explains how it works. (It ain't purdy but it works and it was easier than drawing by hand and walking over to the scanner) You need the pole (obvously), 2 4-6" pullys 3/8-1/2" rope and a truck/4x4.

The pull on the rope is more than the deer weighs but as long as the gambrel doesn't bend and the rope break, it will work just fine.
