We all owe a big thanks to President Obama and the congressional democrats for killing this once great economic opportunity for the United States.

Where crude oil is concerned, Canada waits for no country. It doesn’t matter how wealthy or how friendly that country is -- or whether that country is the United States.

With the Canada-to-Texas Keystone XL pipeline stuck in limbo on the U.S. side, Canada’s Energy Board recently gave a thumbs up to a $6.5 billion pipeline designed to carry 525,000 barrels of oil per day from the oil sands of Alberta to ships on the British Columbia coast. The final destination is most likely Asia.

The U.S. State Department received the Keystone application in September of 2008. The 1,700-mile project was projected to create thousands of jobs and lessen the need for OPEC oil. Even with domestic production booming, the U.S. still imports about half the crude it uses.

“It’s taken longer to approve the Keystone XL pipeline than it did to win World War II, longer than it took us to put a man in space, and almost as long as it took to build the Trans-Continental railroad 155 years ago,” said Jack Gerard, president of the American Petroleum Institute.

OVER 5 YEARS SINCE THE APPROVAL WAS REQUESTED in 2008!

Too late now. Game over. Asia wins. America loses.

I"m not sure this is a development or the Keystone pipeline is dead.

This has been plan B from the start. I think it's more of a bargaining chip than and actual plan.

I doubt anything is going to be decided before the 214 elections and maybe even after the 2016.

This is BIG money and waiting another 2.5 years in hopes that sanity returns to the USA is not as big a deal and spending 100's of Billions in a plan B that puts you at the mercy of the Chi-Coms.

IMO

We buy very little from OPEC. That market is in Europe. We buy 90% of our imported oil from Mexico and Canada.

I think the author of this piece is just trying to go viral with a hyped up fear educing 1/2 truth propaganda piece.

I especially love the part near the end about the Eviro-nuts fearing an "Exxon-Valdez type spill" which didn't not involve a pipeline at all and "Climate Change". What does a pipe do to the Climate?

LMAO

Yes, hype and fear sells stories and some of what he wrote in this article was not true. I'm not saying the Keystone pipeline is not in danger, I'm saying some of his facts hype and BS. IMO, he's on the right side of the issue, so stick to the facts and not risk having your credibility questioned over non-issue statements such as the OPEC deal.

Now, on the issue of the EPA and the Obama's. Not surprising. This administration is nothing BUT corruption and inside deals.

Also not surprising is how little will be done about it.
