Finally got me a rabbit a few days ago, gonna cook it up tomorrow.

Also got this starling with the .22 at about 20 yards give or take. It was feeding with a flock of robins, I wonder why they do this. Yes I was very careful not to pop one of the robins.

I got two squirrels that day too, but no pics.

federal migratory bird act, kind of stupid for a bird as prolific as robins but it is what it is...

Because there is no season on them and they are not considered a nuisance animal.

My grandpa used to tell me about the robin shoots they would have when they were still recognized as game birds. Even before he died, he would still go out in the backyard and shoot a mess and my grandma would make a "robin pie". He loved them. I've had them and they are good eating birds. Best I can remember they taste kinda like a dove but the meat is not quite as dark. All the ol' timers I grew up around would always talk about the good ol days when robins were legal. I've never heard of anyone that didn't like them.

I'm serious!!!! My grandfather said the only bird better was bobwhites!! He never joked about his bird pies!!! They even had wooden carved decoys...

I didn't cook the starling, only the rabbit. The starling got a big hole blown out by the hollow point.

Why would you want to shoot a Robin ??
If there is not a legal hunting season on a critter it is illegal to hunt em.
