\:D yep, you're bit hard now. \:D

that bow has some good features. shoot off the shelf or rest. bushings for a sight or a bowfishing rig. I think you can order you a heavier set of limbs if you want. \:\)

that's good logic on the limbs and draw length.
accessories is UNLIMITED. \:D
glove or tab
arm guard
if you plan to shoot off the shelf, I suggest a rest pad and side plate of some sort.
do you have your arrows figured out yet?(alum, carbon or wood?)
what part of Alabama are you?

I don't have anything figured out yet lol, I went to the bow shop hoping to to get measured for my draw length so I could figure out my draw weight and then my arrows (spine) but long story short , I am going to have to figure it out on my own . With hopefully y'all's help or I am up the creek here lol , so I ordered the bow once I get it I plan on getting my anchor point settled , so i can know for sure my draw lenght and poundage , so hopefully I can order some arrows , i plan on going with carbons to start with till I learn more about it , then may toy with some ceder arrows,as you said I know I'll need to order a tab or glove ? Rest pad of some kind . all the other goodies I'll need or what you recommend ? . I live in ardmore on the TN line , I am orginal born and raised in Cumberland county ( crossville TN) and still travel up that way often.I have my doubts on how good I'll ever be able to shoot a recurve but it's something I have always wanted to do/ try my whole life, I figure at age 36 it's now or never . Thanks so much for your interest and help

this is my advise. another person will/may different ideas/opinion.
check around and see if there is another trad guy in your area. ( I know there is. I'm checking on another website now)
if you go carbon, get 500 spine shafts. brand doesn't matter. carbons are stiff. we may have to go to a field point heavier than 125 gr. I use 175 myself on a 500 spine, 50# draw weight.
tab or glove is a personal choice. take it from me, you will own at least one of each before you're done.

there are sites that are strictly trad. check them out. a lot of your questions can be answered by reading the threads.
here is one.

yes, with the right point weight. judging from what you have told us about your bow poundage and draw length, you will be shooting close to what I am, 50#@28"
the paradox of the shaft comes more into play with trad bows than compounds. not all trad bows are cut to center. carbons are stiff. the weaker spine with work better. I have several 340 and 400 spine sitting in a box while my 500 spines are used all the time.

check out this archery shoot in February. it shouldn't be too far from you. I am plan on going. you could learn a lot there. meanwhile we will see if we cant get you shooting something by then.

If you crossing over into TN thru chattanooga stop by Sportsman Warehouse, they usually have several gloves, tabs, armguards, and hair rest. At the least you can get your hands on some stuff to get a feel of what you might like or not and check for your size in a glove incase you order one on the internet. Also 3 rivers archery has just about anything you may need. I have ordered several things from them and don't have one complaint. Also i think 3 rivers sell kits that have different spined arrows and other items grouped together you might be able to get till you figure out what your bow likes to shoot, I like gold tip traditional with 5 inch sheid cut feathers. Also you could join tradgang, its a site just for traditional. Also when you start shooting and use the 2 fingers under 1 over hold (index finger on top of the aroow with the next two fingers under) and have problems with the arrow falling of the shelf try all 3 fingers under but this will change your nock point a little. Most important is don't get discouraged just start simple and have fun. If you were closer you could stop by and I would try to help ya get started.

First off welcome to the world of traditional archery, always glad to hear of someone try the trad bows, it can be challenging, is mountains of fun & very rewarding, just give yourself time to learn it, get the DVD "MASTERS OF THE BARE BOW" volume 1, plenty of big names in the trad biz & they offer a bunch of good info.

The TNdeer tribe is outstanding when it comes to help'n a brother out, most have been at it quite a while & will go the extra mile for ya, but just in case you cant find info or hands on help (most bow shops are set up for compounds only), these sites in the link mite offer some usable info.

Keep us posted, have fun.
