Was deer hunting from a ground blind. All of a sudden I saw movement. Not deer but coming from the ground to a tree and about the size of a small house cat. I've heard of groundhogs climbing trees and thought that's what I thought I was going to see. Threw my scope up and holy smokes...that's a big squirrel. And there were two of them.

How common is it for them to get that big?

Not sure, that's a bign tho. There for several years we got to where we didn't see as many foxes only greys. But this year we have seen tons of them. Going to break out the hot rod 22 after deer season.

The farm I hunt has some big ones too. There ears are white in the winter.

The place I'm headed to deer hunt this morning has a decent number of fox squirrels. Small house cat is pretty big for one

Yeah she trees several that I kill from her every season. She rides with me when I'm bushogging and has chased and been chased by coyotes. She has no fear when I'm backing her-lol. But a doe has put her on the porch a time or two.
