Made a swing through the local pawn shops today and ended up bringing home a '79 Remington 700 sporting a Williams rear peep sight. Anyone else hunt with a peep sight? I wouldn't attempt a long shot with it but for a woods gun I think it would be pretty sweet and fast aiming.

You bet!! I love em. Most of my lever guns wear them and it would surprise most folks how accurate they could be with them.

Got one on a 30-30 win. They are fast and accurate for old eyes like mine.

Nothing but peeps on my old lever guns. I don't think twice about a 100 yd. shot with the ole Savage 99.

I've had one on all of my bows.

I have an old muzzleloader that has a peep sight.

If you practice with a peep' you can be s accurate as with a scope to about 100-150yds in most cases.
I've heard of guys that made some incredible shots in WW2 with the Garand using the peep.
My LR308 with the flip up rear peep is very accurate.
I haven't put a scope on it yet, I strongly feel I can hit just about anything I can see with either the large aperture or the small if its over 100yds.
Practice.
