Na they'll hit it quick in passing maybe, but aren't making a point to go them regularly or anything...

This is the correct answer. In some areas, deer use salt all year. In other areas, they will only use it during warm weather.

Deer have used my salt lick all year but no bucks use the area except during the rut. It's gone back to just one or two yearling bucks and he (the broke off spike) visits the salt occasionally but not frequently. I almost killed him yesterday. If he lives I'd like to see if he stays all winter and summer and grows into a 2.5 year old in the same area where most bucks leave after the rut. But the does and fawns have hammered the salt since I first started it in February. They are there just about daily, morning and evening.

They use it year round on my place but dwindle down some about November.
